What’s in a name? Well, if it is your business’ name then there is alot in a name!
The title of this post is the exact page title that ME used on their website to boost their ranking on Google and other search engines that crawl for the keyword Lutz massage. See for yourself! Search ‘Lutz Massage’ in google and look at ME rank in the organic search. I asked the management to take this page down and/or change the wording to avoid confusing consumers in thinking that LM and ME were possible one in the same. Currently, the page name is the same and they never responded the Better Business Bureau complaint that was filed months ago. The owner of ME didn’t understand how this verbiage was wrong, unfair, and misleading. I did a little digging and found that this may be a tactic that they ME web masters use to squash the small business owner’s online business.
Try this one, Google ‘South Tampa Massage’ and you will find this: Massage Therapy at South Tampa Massage Therapy at Massage Envy. Looks pretty familiar right!? Is this good business practice or a big FOUL for ball-hogging? I will let you decide. Lutz Massage is a family owned and operated business that doesn’t want to be confused with ME (in any way shape or form!)
I wrote this post for two reasons. First, I wanted to see is this post would show on a Google search for Massage envy, Lutz Massage Envy, or Massage Envy Lutz. I really don’t know what to call them or what they call themselves (officially.)

Again I ask, What IS in a name?

Who’s to blame here? I believe Massage Envy corporate offices. As far as I see, this is their regular unfair business practice for all Massage Envy web sites to get ranked for local searches in search engines.
Not all the massage therapy salons include their county or city in their business names. So they might get away with this kind of verbage but in your case, it’s your actual business name. So, Massage Envy should not automatically create a pre-templated website with just county or city names changing in the title of the page. Their correct headline should be “Massage Envy in Lutz” . What they’re doing is a shame!
Luckily you are well equipped to deal with this kind of issue. Whateverr they do, your site will always be ranked higher for any keyword related “Lutz”. I feel bad for the other guys though like in that South Tampa you mentioned. It’s possible he’s loosing business over it.
As answer to your question if this post or page will rank for a term like ” Massage Envy in Lutz ” or ” Lutz Massage Envy ” , my answer would be yes. Give it a little time
